By using Mark Rothko’s painting, Greys in Yellow, as inspiration, this project focuses on designing a pop-up location for a beloved local coffee shop in Bloomsbury, London, that would be placed in a replica of the Farnsworth House. While the shop has three locations throughout the city, they wanted to open a speciality destination that is different from what they already do. To accomplish this, the shop will be a coffee cafe during the morning and afternoon hours, however, after 5pm, the menu will change and offer gourmet cocktails and small plates. Due to this transition, the aim of the design is to create a space that is a casual coffee ship by day, and an upscale and modern bar by night.
